India as a country is under pressure of proper utilization of its resources and distributing the benefits to the her wast demographic profile. In this case structure and governance of the Indian cities are facing lot of challenges as they are not in a good state to face those challenges which makes them more prune for failure and paradoxes.
Present State of Indian Cities and Challenges in front of them
- Mainly following are the challenges at present.
- Urbanization and centralized urbanization where whole country is just moving towards four of five cities.
- Mismanagement of resources and no proper coordination among so many development committees and agencies.
- No vision for the cities and no concept developed to create and develop more highly developed cities so that problem of urbanization, health and unemployment could be solved.
- Apart from this corruption is one of the main issues where relevant requirements are not assigned resources and less priority things are allocated resources.
- Lack of people and civil society people participation
- Incorporating integrated approach for cities development
- Making proper planning and its social impact analysis and incorporating those issues and their solution in the framework.
- Designing the cities development solution under six to sevens heading such as
- Land utilization, Health facilities, Employment, Environmental Concern transportation, Political structuring, Financial resource management, Industrialization and cultural aspect and indication of stakeholder in each categories with the policy implementers.
- Above mentioned each category will take it forward and initiate integrated city development plan.
- Time bound monitoring process with strict implementation of guidelines is necessary.
